7/11/15 :: today was a pretty cool day! Simon picked up two legs towards his Canadian Started sheep title with a class place third and a second (over his instructor and her young dog - teehee!) and...Keiko minored out by going Best of Variety over a special in the capable and kind hands of Taylor Williams.
7/24/15 :: at an AHBA trial, Simon was second in his class for his first leg in HTDIId. He chattered his teeth most of the way around the course...he loves his ducks!
7/26/15 :: Diamond finished her Herding Tested title today. She did a great job!
We are also proud of Ch. Long Acre's Now You See Me, HT for acquiring his Pre-trial Tested title. Dylan was co-bred with Mary Benedict of Long Acre Collies.
8/15/15 :: Simon finished his Canadian Herding Started title on sheep. Canadian courses are a true test of a dog and handler's abilities. American courses are set so you know what the order of obstacles are. Canadian courses are different every time, much like agility courses are. So, the dog must have the skills to do the work, not just follow a memorized path. Icing on the cake was that he was the only dog to qualify in his class!!
8/30/15 :: yesterday and today, Caleb (Camloch Luminescence) earned a "Pass" in Pre-trial Tested which gives him a new title, PT. Simon earned his first leg in Intermediate A ducks. It was an incredible experience! He ended up being RHIT with the trial including sheep and ducks. I am so proud of this partner of mine!
9/11/15 :: Simon finished his Herding Ranch Dog title today with a 85-1/2 out of 90 points and a High In Trial. This course is a simulation of stock dog chores, with taking dogs through multiple pens, splitting the stock into different areas. This is a American Herding Breed Association course. Judge Gina McDonnell said that she hoped everyone saw this run because it was beautiful and calm and the way things so run. He was High in Trial!
Caleb was third in the HTAD-1s course. He has only been in the big field for this course twice, so we did our best, but he qualified. For a young dog, I'm proud of him!
9/12/15 :: today, Simon got his first leg on HTAD1 ducks, his favorite stock. He also finished his HTAD1s title with a score of 86/90, winning first in his class and another High In Trial. His half-brother was second in that class for a score of 81/90 and a Reserve High In Trial, meaning his HTAD1s title in style! Caleb has gained some confidence out in the big field, so I look forward to moving on to his Started title. I am so proud of these two boys. They work so quietly and kindly to the sheep.
9/13/15 :: Simon finished his Ranch Large Flock (RLF1s) with a score of 86/90 This involves working 25 sheep and maneuvering through gates, and sorting 8 stock out of the larger group. My instructor commented that our sort was the quietest and best handled of all the runs, herself included. That made me feel great!
9/20/15 :: Camloch Collies made a good showing at the Collie Club of America Regional Herding Trial. Ch. Camloch In The Pink (Izzy) finished her HSAd title, while her sister Ch. Camloch Prosperity CDX, RE (Orla) earned her HT title which makes her eligible for the Versatility Champion title given out by the Collie Club of America. Izzy and Orla are owned, loved and handled by Sue Floyd, VMD. We are so proud of these girls!
Not to be outdone, Simon earned his first two legs on Started B ducks with a first and second in his class. He also picked up his second leg on Intermediate A with first in his class! |
